Ikea Metod and Liebherr Festtürkühlschrank combine

Hello dear Ikea fans,

we were just about to finalize our IKEA kitchen planning when the following problem arose: We inherited a very high-quality built-in refrigerator from Liebherr, it is almost new and we would like to use it. However, it is a fixed door appliance and I was told at IKEA that I cannot use a fixed door refrigerator for METOD. Is that really true? The refrigerator is really good, with a Bio-Fresh compartment, etc. Isn’t there a way to install this refrigerator at IKEA? The consultant during the planning said no, he also asked a fitter. I am a bit desperate because I urgently need to order the kitchen as we are moving soon. The overlay door options from other manufacturers are unfortunately very limited and mostly not really energy efficient. Isn’t there maybe a trick on how to use the fixed door refrigerator? Allegedly this was also not possible with Faktum – but it can’t be that you absolutely have to take an IKEA appliance, can it?

Can someone help me? Hope for a positive response soon. :)

In my opinion, this is complete nonsense in general. Since IKEA only sells appliances with pull-out door technology, they simply don't know anything else. If you don't assemble the kitchen yourself, it could of course be that installers from a shipping company come who can't do anything else than what they have been shown.
