IKEA GODMORGON washbasin cabinet + ODENSVIK washbasin

I was just about to install my 60cm wide Godmorgen washbasin cabinet Odensvik washbasin and had to realize that the washbasin would protrude significantly beyond the base cabinet (4.5cm).

That’s actually not how I had it in mind, nor remembered from Ikea.
It concerns the following:


The base cabinet without door is 45cm deep, the washbasin 49.5cm deep, the door would be about 1.9cm deep.
So the washbasin protrudes about 2.5cm and opening the upper door (model white glazed oak effect) is a bit more difficult.

I would like to ask whether this "overhang" is normal or not. (In our bathroom you approach the washbasin cabinet from the side and the protruding washbasin just doesn’t look very good.)

P.S.: My mother has exactly the same Godmorgon cabinet, which she says is 47cm deep without door (compared to my 45cm). For her, the washbasin does not protrude at the front either.

Matches the dimensions given on the website. A few months ago, I assembled the combination in high-gloss white and it was the same then. Hopefully, you didn't also buy the RÖRSKÄR faucet.

okay thanks. more or less it matches. I was just surprised because it sticks out so much at the front. But I noticed that in many Ikea product pictures the sink is exactly centered on the sink cabinet (so the sink protrudes about 2.5 cm at the front and back). Only now, if the sink protrudes 2.5 cm at the back, you can no longer attach the base cabinet to the wall because it has to be flush with the wall, right?

no, why? one more question: the instructions say that the 2 upper of the 4 drill holes (of the base cabinet) should/must be between 73.5 and 76 cm height. For me, a height of about 78 cm would be optimal. What disadvantages would that cause? (maybe the drain won’t fit then?) or are the cm specifications only given because of the optional feet?

I think it only looks that way because of the perspective, since the sink also protrudes a bit on the sides. The handle strip on the white version is 4 cm wide and roughly aligns with the sink. It's also not really comfortable to touch.

What disadvantages would arise from this? (maybe the drain doesn't fit then?)
or are the cm measurements only given because of the optional feet?

As far as I remember, that is only because of the feet and the siphon hose was long enough. It's best to hold it up and estimate beforehand for safety.

The sink has been in place for a few days now and everything works wonderfully. I am happy
Now only the lighting above the mirror is missing, which will not be bought at Ikea (the SJÖBRIS lamp will not be delivered again for about ~2 months, if at all.)

I have the LUNDSKÄR, which also splashes a bit because the water shoots down from such a great height...

The protruding sink doesn’t bother me as much anymore either.
However, in this picture the gap is smaller again (Although it’s a different sink, it should be just as deep...) :
