Ikea Besta soft-closing hinges including pressure mechanism

Hello!

Tell me, is it just me or am I seeing this wrong:

The new Besta hinge is only available with 2 soft-closing hinges including a pressure mechanism.

That's pointless or just a money-making scheme.

If I install the door without a handle with a "pressure part," I don't need a soft-close mechanism on the hinge. It can't close by itself; I have to push it closed.

But if I install a door with a handle, the soft-close mechanism does make sense, but then I have dozens of pressure parts that I don't need!

????? Makes no sense to me.

I already wanted to combine other hinges from Ikea, but it doesn't work. (Different grub screw....)

It's basically "a hinge for everyone." It fits those who want to open the door normally and fits those who want to work with the pressure mechanism.

I had the "problem" a few weeks ago too. According to IKEA employees, many complain that they basically have to pay for this pressure mechanism even though they don't want it at all, just a normal hinge. But there's only this combo solution available.

You don't necessarily have to use hinges from IKEA. There is a thread here with alternatives. It must be about 4 years old.
