Yes, the (incomprehensible) hating begins when you realize that you have implemented quite a few things thoughtlessly. You react out of anger and tell yourself: now more than ever. And it’s always the others who are crazy – it must be so, because you yourself are not crazy

A strong word (hating), which would never occur to me in connection with stones or front gardens or plants

I am a committed non-rock gardener. Rock gardeners also have Weber grills, washed cars, gas trap pullovers, watch the Geisens....but otherwise, of course, I have no prejudices, grin....

Rock gardens are not all the same

There are stone deserts with a green spot and there are colorful, blooming rock gardens

The worst are the outdoor areas with a stone desert as the front yard, lawn as the rest of the garden framed by double steel mesh and cemetery thuja or 2-meter privacy fences including back yard flair

Bird protection hedges and flower meadows at least don’t complain if the pruning is not done on time.

Are you on FB? Then go to the group "mein Garten" and observe the posts about rock gardens and preferably also double rod mesh fences. There, the rock garden owners are blamed for the bees dying.

Unfortunately, linking is not allowed.

I find it really funny and interesting how much people here rant against the evil Thuja. We live in the middle of the forest, have different types of hedges, and the proportion of flowering shrubs is increased again in spring. Shall I tell you which hedge is the most popular in spring? The "stupid" Thuja, it overflows every year with various birds that build their nests in it and raise their young there. So where does this demonization come from, which I only notice so massively here to this extent?

And about the double rod mesh fence: as multiple dog owners who live on a highly frequented path, for us it is the safest fence. And nicely planted, it is not really ugly; ours only stands out in places where there are no plants.
