Ideas for building over the garage additional living space

Hello, we still need an additional living space in the new building from 2020. For that, we wanted to add a room above the garage. After I tore it open, it looks pretty ugly. Does anyone have any ideas?

I would (if possible) place it over the entire surface of the garage - on the one hand visually more homogeneous, on the other hand probably less critical structurally...

I would also definitely not add a foreign object with a flat roof, but rather place a gable roof on the extension.

Is this a border garage? Then the proposal from post #2 does not work.

I imagine a mono-pitched roof 1 m higher than the house with the same roof pitch.
