I recently bought the individual parts of the Metod carcasses for my new kitchen. Since the furniture is arranged in an "L" shape and the kitchen with 243x255cm does not offer much space, the dishwasher (6) is intended to be placed on the far right later. To the right of that will be a freestanding refrigerator.
The arrangement has to be this way because if the water pipes were on the left, the kitchen would be about 10cm shorter. And there’s also a radiator in the way...... The old kitchen had base cabinets that were somehow 45cm deep; the 60cm ones from Ikea are quite large! Which, of course, makes the kitchen smaller but also provides more storage space!
I am leaving out the long/wide corner base cabinet (3) because I don’t want to buy an additional 60cm cabinet that is hard to reach; the two corner carcasses are supposed to be neatly clad in front with an angle from Küchenfront24. I thought that it would be screwed onto the left carcass.
The pictures are stock images – and ugly fronts – since the Ikea kitchen planner only runs on 32-bit systems but my board has 32GB RAM and 64-bit. 4 and 8 are 30x60x37 wall cabinets with the Jotis glass door. Number 7 has a white door.
In the 3rd picture you can see the measurements but the arrangement of the upper cabinets is from a previous plan that no longer applies. And the depth below is 635mm, Ikea standard.
