How expensive was your conscription / hidden costs?

Hello, I have received an initial offer from a prefabricated house provider. I understand that the price will not remain as is. Where did additional costs arise for you afterwards and in what amount? For example: The building and service description includes a doorbell, but no electric door opener. It may be a small thing, but such things add up... Thanks and regards Tom

Without the information about what is stated in the construction service description, you really can't say. For us, for example: * After the soil survey, a few thousand euros more were added for the foundation slab (which is included in the base price) * The electrical equipment was also insufficient for us (more network sockets, etc.) - 2000 euros extra * The standard staircase was awful - 3500 euros more. and it can drag on like this. In addition, there are of course "small things" that have nothing directly to do with the turnkey builder - house connections (water/electricity/...)

It depends on what is already included in the construction service description and whether you have higher demands than what is included. The worst thing is what is not mentioned or where it says “besides,” because you are responsible for all of that.

Typical things are trades like electrical work. Usually, the lowest standard is included. Then quite a few additional sockets often come on top. Network cabling usually comes extra. Other things are tiles or sanitary fixtures where you want more expensive ones than those included.

We also received a price list for the optional equipment along with the construction and service description. A small selection was listed there, and one could already guess where this was headed. Doorbell to intercom system with 3 house phones was just under four figures.

The biggest impact for us was the floor. Parquet instead of vinyl...and also in the bathroom even though we felt we chose at the lower end there. Bathroom showroom is just incredibly expensive though. Tiles were still quite okay
