How does the electric pressure door opener work?

Hello The Ikea online planner shows me the possibility of an electric push-to-open for the FA170 (base cabinet for sink with drawer), Utrusta item number 702.272.36 Can someone please explain to me exactly how it works? And the assembly instructions are not clear to me either. I assume I need a power outlet near the cabinet, and where is the "Sensor" or whatever it is placed?

Yes, of course you need a power outlet somewhere nearby, the thing is electric after all...

From the installation manual I deduced the following:
There is no extra "sensor," everything is already built into the opener.
So if you press against the front, the drawer will open a few centimeters (pushed forward).
However, what that is supposed to achieve is unclear to me, since I still have to open the drawer completely by hand...

But I somehow find it funny that it is automatically ordered with the kitchen planner.
They probably think that with a few thousand € for a kitchen, 100€ won’t really stand out...

Thank you for the answer. Could it be that the drawer fully extends after tapping, that would make more sense? Still, even then, I would need one hand to open the lid of the waste bin. Does Ikea actually have a solution, like in other kitchens, where the lid of the trash can automatically opens when the drawer/door is opened? Does anyone in the forum have this electric push-to-open device and can report more about it? Otherwise, I will ask on my next Ikea visit if it is installed somewhere in the store and then make a video of it. Regards Section Chief
