Either or! What do you think about the attic's suitability as a cold roof for storage? We made the cold roof accessible, but it is absolutely useless as a storage space for clothes and such. In summer it is unbearably hot and in winter unbearably cold. Apart from all the critters that fall down in masses when I open the attic hatch once a year to check if everything is okay up there. From my point of view, this is only an emergency storage room for building materials.

hm, too bad, okay, and this is exactly where I hoped to create a kind of cellar replacement. At least for all the Christmas stuff, old books, toys, or whatever else is left over. Ideally, I wanted to put up cabinets there. But that obviously doesn’t sound very promising. Then we’ll probably have to give up on that.Either or! We have an unheated attic, accessible by stairs, insulated with glass wool, with a Velux window and equipped with Studiobinder. A wonderful cellar substitute. Dry, frost-free in winter, not too hot in summer, perfect for storage. Additional cost in 2017 about 15,000 with insulation done ourselves.

We have an unheated, but stair-accessible floor insulated with glass wool, with a Velux window and a Studiobinder. A wonderful cellar replacement. Dry, frost-free in winter, not too hot in summer, everything can be stored there. Additional cost 2017 around 15 with insulation as own work.
I think that's great, that's how I imagined it except for the fixed stairs we can do without. hmm so it works without heating after all. Did I understand correctly that the entire roof is insulated or only the ceiling to the attic?
