What are the exterior dimensions of the building? I can’t make them out from the pictures (at least not for me).
It seems to be a rather small house, and accordingly, I find everything clearly too cramped. I would personally do without the second shower and a dressing room, especially given the limited dimensions. I would also make the kitchen a bit smaller. Instead, I would make the children's room, dining room, bathroom, and hallway (where would you put a coat rack and shoes?) larger. The utility room probably won’t suffice as a storage room if there is no basement.
You are single, so the advice to build bigger might initially seem pointless. But I don't think a few extra square meters would significantly change the construction costs. Calculating costs per square meter is very imprecise; it’s just easier to calculate that way. I would guess 10 more square meters might cost you maybe 5,000–8,000€ more. And I consider this a good investment in this case. There is also enough space on the plot.
I also agree with the opinion that the layout is not exactly ideal.
And I wonder again (as I did with our own planning) why so many architects cannot plan HABITABLE spaces...
So you see, I’m not that enthusiastic, no offense meant. I definitely have a very personal idea; I need open pathways and space for furniture. Ultimately, it has to please you. But I believe you will get better suggestions here in the forum than from the architect.
