At least I have not yet encountered that with KfW55 plus controlled residential ventilation you could already make the leap to KfW40; usually something in the wall structure still has to be changed – and then the question is: what? And how well does the builder handle that in practice. Yes, I do think that KfW40 is as "useful" as an organic label: you pay more, but – admittedly, I say this as a meat eater – you don’t taste the extra cost. Ergo, it is something for people who want to and can afford a Greta conscience – the latter is not exactly pocket money for the average skilled worker, who also has to dip into the vacation fund.

As said, we assume that controlled residential ventilation is desired anyway.
From my offer (timber frame construction)
Additional cost perimeter insulation = €5,568
Additional cost roof insulation = €1,166
Additional cost front door = €1,148

Total additional cost = €7,882
More subsidy = €7,500
Delta = -€382

You were right, it is a loss-making business. But in this case justifiable

And in solid construction, this is certainly not achievable either.
This shows the OP again that it is impossible to compare anything here.

At least your additional cost sounds unusually petty.

Where should the perimeter insulation go? Base plate? Basement ceiling?

Surcharge for roof insulation €10/sqm :rolleyes:
