Thank you for the explanation. They indeed seem to be rough opening dimensions. That also makes sense.

Practice calculating area: 500cm x 6cm = 3000cm² = 0.3sqm ?!

Problem: Based on experience, what your main contractor will credit you for the windows will not be sufficient for a free contract award. Have it quoted, black out the prices if necessary, and forward the offers to your site manager.

On the one hand, I don’t quite get it: 2.32 m is supposed to be the raw construction dimension of the opening, 2.26 m the height of the elements. Without underfloor heating that would be the same, and with underfloor heating the elements would even be too high for the clear installation height.

Secondly, I wonder what the general contractor does for a living if he can’t procure windows that have the desired height (up to 2.40 m should not be a problem).

If any furnishing wish fails due to 12 cm of room width, there has been a planning error. I’m also against dimensioning interior walls to 17.5 cm across the board – but 11.5 cm just to regain too narrow room width at the wall is nonsense (and also without any sauce).
