Dear forum community,
I have a question that has been asked - albeit frequently: We are currently building our house with a developer and we removed all sanitary items "in front of the wall"; everything else came from the contractor’s assigned plumber. When I asked him if he would also install our two washbasins and the toilets, he grumbled but agreed. After talking to him on the phone, he said it wouldn’t cost "much." He has now scheduled 19 working hours for these few items and is giving me a special price of 900 euros without an invoice. It should be mentioned that the sinks and bathroom accessories in the main bathroom were mounted on porcelain stoneware tiles with a thickness of 1 cm, which naturally requires more time for drilling.
He or his employees installed (in the main and guest bathroom):
- 2 x WC Laufen Pro wall-mounted deep-flush toilets rimless white, with Clean Coat (note: the items behind the wall came from the plumber, so they are covered by the GC)
- 1 x ceramic washbasin 60 cm wide
- 2 x toilet brushes on wall
- 2 x toilet paper holders on wall
These items were mounted on porcelain stoneware tiles with a thickness of 1 cm:
- 1 x double washbasin "Villeroy & Boch Venticello cabinet double washbasin white, with CeramicPlus" with two space-saving siphons, with 2 tap holes with 2 faucets "Grohe Lineare single-lever washbasin mixer, S-Size with push-open drain valve, chrome"
- 2 x Keuco Edition 400 towel holders, 1-piece, fixed
- 2 x Keuco Edition 400 cup holders
- 1 x Keuco Edition 400 soap dispenser
What do you think about this, and if this seems unrealistic, what would you do? The annoying thing is that this plumber also installed our heating system components and we now have 5 years of warranty through him via the developer and we are also buying the descaling system from him, which he offers us 200 euros cheaper because we have promised him to take the maintenance contract with him (but not yet finalized).
Many thanks in advance!
