Well-earned money from undeclared work. Bad luck and too expensive. But you can't do anything about it now, you should have asked earlier.

I think that's good. You could have paid more.

If you already want to make a counteroffer to the illegal worker after the illegal work has been done to prove that he is too expensive

Seems like there's really a lot of draft upstairs...

Well, I had neither commissioned nor requested illegal work. Our plumber, who does everything for our house anyway, agreed to install the things. When I now asked him what he would get for it, he said, and mind you, of his own accord and WITHOUT me having asked, 900 euros without an invoice. Here, I neither agreed nor declined. Just to make this clear.

: One seduces, one lets themselves be seduced. It doesn’t matter who is who now. I don’t like illegal work, I don’t need a law forum for that. I could have saved 700€ on a soil survey with such an “offer”. I just found it outrageous that someone assumed I would sell my self-respect for that amount. Presumably everyone has their price – 700€ is certainly not mine. By the way, I find it refreshingly honest but at least naive to question the price of illegally provided services in a forum. That is an attitude and an opinion that apparently does not correspond to your values. I do not presume to pass judgment.

Well, I could also have written net, but my self-respect is not connected with the VAT.

So what came out now, did you press him on the price?
