What kind of heat pump do you have?
Do you have problems with icing? Is the heat pump located in the basement or on the ground floor?

However, in my opinion, the price difference for the same comfort is quite high.

The loud heat pump in the front yard is terrible. If a parked car constantly made such noise, everyone on the ridge would be up in arms -- but heat pumps have to be tolerated. This is also a burden for the environment and wildlife -.- but nowadays everyone is blind to that. Only climate matters now, no matter if bats kill themselves by the thousands at wind turbines or loud heat pumps ruin the quiet autumn evening.

I cannot understand this hostility towards natural gas. It is foreseeable that we will not be able to do without natural gas for many decades to come.

If electricity ever becomes sustainable, one could simply heat with electricity -- provided it is not artificially made more expensive (which unfortunately will probably be the case). That would be environmentally friendly because no complex-to-manufacture systems would have to be installed.

Brine-water heat pump with borehole. Ground floor. Ice only comes from the freezer.

And what kind of heating costs (including hot water) do you have approximately per year? Can you measure the electricity separately? What are the maintenance costs? How expensive was the entire system including drilling, installation, and device?

That's true. That's why you should buy a quiet one. They do exist. It is not hostility towards natural gas; it is just the realization that fossil fuels are fundamentally problematic. You are right, we will still need natural gas for quite some time – after all, it is not practical to throw everything overboard at once, and natural gas is still comparatively clean. For a new building, where good and mature alternatives are available, to still rely on fossil fuels for the next 15-20 years is pretty outdated.

Yesterday,
all my troubles seemed so far away,
Now it looks as though they're here to stay,
Oh I believe in yesterday

Yesterday love was such an easy game to play,
Now I need a place to hide away,
Oh I believe in yesterday
Mmmm...
