Hello chridre,

have you ever thought about getting an energy consultant? They really are specialists, and you can go through your offers with them in detail.

Also consider possible subsidies from [KFW] etc., as there are often additional cost savings to be made which might put the offers into perspective.

When we renovated, we turned to Eveecon, who connect you with the right energy consultant for your measures. They also apply for the appropriate funding for you and support you during construction. Much less stress, I can only recommend it to you ;)

Hi,

1. I would be cautious with split units. On the one hand, they usually have somewhat higher refrigerant quantities, and on the other hand, the threshold for the annual leak test for these devices is 5t GWP equivalent. This limit is actually exceeded by almost all split units. A leak test (>100€) then significantly increases the annual costs of a heat pump. For this reason, it is better to rely on monoblock units. This has the advantage

[*]No refrigerant technician is required during installation, which reduces costs
[*]The threshold values for the leak test in monoblock units are 10t GWP. This is exceeded by most air-source heat pumps without problems.

2. Even for an air-source heat pump, an annual performance factor (SPF) of 3 is poor. You should rather look for an annual performance factor >4. There are actually quite a few good units...

3. As an alternative to drilling, you should inform yourself about the concept of a ring trench collector (->search engine). This can be built extremely cheaply in new construction and comes close to drilling in terms of efficiency. After deducting the BAFA subsidy, it even becomes cheaper than an air-source heat pump. In addition, it achieves an annual performance factor >5. For a standard house, this means 400€ less per year compared to SPF = 3.
