Hager technical control center or server cabinet?

In the living room, I installed a duplex outlet. We had to reduce the rest to save costs because the electrician wanted a considerable surcharge. Which switch can you recommend? Apart from a guest network and possibly a separate network for the camera, nothing is planned for now. The router is currently the standard one from Vodafone. However, I am flexible about that. Possibly, phone service over the internet is also planned. It currently still runs analog through a device.

Then you already have 3 networks (Guest, Camera-IoT, Main network). If you want to stick with the standard router, you need an L3 switch, which can then also route between the networks. But you have to read up a bit beforehand so as not to fail at the configuration.

So the third network would be nice, but it is not absolutely necessary if I could save costs so significantly.

What are clear costs for you? An example, we have a 48-port PoE switch from Cisco. It can do all that. Costs about €800.

It's quite simple: A dumb switch with, say, 16 ports is available for under 50 EUR. Even with basic management (VLANs), it doesn't have to be a three-digit amount. PoE then doubles these costs but also saves on additional cables and power supplies. However, 100 EUR should not be interpreted as "significantly" more expensive, even if that is 100 percent more. ;) Please make sure, however, that the PoE version of your devices matches the capabilities of the switch.

Does it then have to be a 48-port switch? 800€ is quite a hefty price.
