My parents bought a unit with a floor area of about 10 m² around 25 years ago (I can’t say exactly now). 4mm twin-wall sheets are installed. These are easy to handle and if one should break due to any influences, at least you don’t have shards lying around that could injure you while picking them up. Thus, I find such sheets very pleasant. However, there is something that is certainly not so nice. I cannot say what kind of plastic the sheets are made of, but it is certain that after some years holes like small round ones appeared on the outside of the sheets. The first thought was that birds tried to get at earwigs, which like to retreat into these hollow spaces, and thereby damaged the sheets. But that was not the case; hail was the cause. Furthermore, these sheets discolor more and more so that the interior actually becomes darker. I cannot say whether polycarbonate sheets are better because, as I said, I do not know what was used at that time for the greenhouse.
The foundation for the house was made as follows.
Paving slabs of 60x60x10 cm were used. These were buried about 50 cm so that the house now stands about 10 cm above the ground. Inside, the aluminum frame of the house was fastened laterally with galvanized flat iron to the stones with dowels.
As ypg already wrote, there are also foundation frames. Just take a look at the manufacturers’ pages to see what is said there about the foundation.
Regarding the pond, the following should be said.
Power should definitely be available. Depending on what is to be put in the pond, you will need an air pump or even a more or less elaborate filtration system.
Please also consider that such a pond should be correspondingly deep so that it does not freeze completely in winter and you don’t end up with frozen fish. If something like that is to go in, it is recommended because otherwise there could be a mosquito invasion.
