Who makes a mistake is basically irrelevant and at least for me boring as hell. Ultimately, what counts is always how you continue. Someone who only looks for the culprits afterwards will never become a leader with me.

The applicable date is the service period or delivery date. Not the invoice date, not the time of payment.

Most people talk in net amounts, even if it is wrong and gross prices must be stated. Always ask!

Someone with this attitude would hardly lead in anything other than wars.

Don't let yourself be fooled, you are a private individual and you should receive gross prices, but I think only someone who has been self-employed understands that.

It is definitely not irrelevant who made the mistake. If I gave in for every craftsman error, I would be sitting on 30k additional costs!
If I get caught speeding, I also pay without discussion. You just have to write it off as a learning experience.
Why can't the craftsman do that?
No one who can't admit mistakes would become a leader with me.
Mistakes must have consequences, otherwise we would live in total anarchy!

If Gala is already talking about a solution, then it will certainly turn out disadvantageous for you if you do not stand firm, because if he recognized that gross prices apply to you as a private person, then there would be no need to look for a solution.

However, one must not forget that your stated price might also be unjustified because you would be depriving him of the profit of his work due to his stupidity. It could be, but it doesn't have to be. Didn't the offer seem too cheap to you? Basically, it doesn't matter anyway, Gala can be assessed by very few or no consumers.
...between us, I always assume such things on construction sites are intentional, since as a client you are always the weakest link in the chain.

That something like this (net/gross, no written offer, etc.) only happens to you at the end of the construction work, namely at the exterior installation, is already strange.
