Hello everyone,

at the moment, we are receiving more and more questions and also some decisions. The plaster facade of the house will be white, the windows are ordered in anthracite (outside).

Now the question about the garage door. The garage is located directly next to the house by the front door (planned in anthracite). So far, we wanted an anthracite-colored door, but apparently, due to the south-facing orientation, there are often problems with opening in the summer because of expansion/warping caused by heat. We are now unsure whether we should choose the door in white and how that would look. Maybe you can also work with a different plaster color for the garage? (However, the window at the back is ordered in anthracite.) Or a different door color? Do you perhaps have ideas or how did you solve this if you had a similar situation?

Hello,

well, the facade of the house is white and the windows are anthracite.

A garage with an anthracite-colored plaster and a white door would make a nice color contrast.

The window on the back side wouldn't bother me if it has a different color than the door.

Best regards,

Dirk

Yes, that is an idea. What are your experiences with the door colors regarding dirt? Is white more sensitive than light gray? And which surface is the least sensitive to scratches or [Fussball]? The Woodgrain surface was offered to us as the least sensitive, but we don't really like it either. Sandgrain or Micrograin are then still options.

Why should a gate in white now be more sensitive to dirt than a house in white?

I would only do Woodgrain if the windows and the door are also in Woodgrain, otherwise not.

Well, most of the [eei.en] gates I know are borderline filthy ... Mostly because of splash dirt

Well, the white plaster of the same age should show the same "dirtiness," right? Then the plastic garage door next door is the smallest problem. Also, water, dish soap, and a cloth work wonders, I have been told. You have bigger problems with the white plaster.
