Full floor or with knee wall?

...from when is it actually still considered a knee wall and from when as a full storey? Assuming the ceiling height remains 2.3m? What if no ceiling is installed above the upper floor? Or is it more of a "gradual" transition?

The respective building regulations decide this. If 2,x m room height is reached on xy% of the area = full storey. Such a high knee wall should count as a full storey everywhere.

I think the OP is not concerned with the legal term "full storey," which no longer exists in Bavaria anyway, but only with where the roof starts: below or above the 2nd floor ceiling. I consider the latter to be more advantageous. Ultimately, however, the shell builder should know best. He can compare the alternatives, then you can see where the money goes.
