How deep would you set a strip foundation for a 10 x 10 meter small house (only ground floor made of bricks, tiled roof). The house will be built in a frost-free and dry climate on dry but solid ground. Do I even need reinforcement (rebar) in such a case or is simply pouring concrete into the formwork for the strip foundation sufficient? Is it enough to place the formwork on the surface or do I have to dig a small trench of 10 x 10 meters and how deep should it be in a frost-free zone? For such a small footprint and only the ground floor, does the strip foundation have to be twice as wide as the walls (bricks)? Can I possibly execute the whole thing with stronger concrete without reinforcement (rebar) simply in the formwork on the surface (i.e. no trench, no reinforcement, just concrete in the formwork on the surface)?

10x10 m "small" house?

Strip foundations according to the static requirements. Since it does not seem to be in Germany, the forum can only help you to a limited extent...

There are also floor slabs without strip foundations, that might be what you meant with your last paragraph.

Please leave it to a professional, it is commendable that you know that reinforcement is also called armoring. There is no shell, you mean formwork.

To me, that sounds like "we are building in South Thailand." Am I right? Because besides the structural aspects, there are much more important points to consider! I speak from experience and could share this via PM. zapp

Yes, of course you need a strip foundation. And reinforcement in any case as well

Hi

The first part of the statement is certainly not correct like that.

Well, you're probably right, but then the plate will be thicker. Without local knowledge, everything is hypothetical anyway
