How deep would you set a strip foundation for a 10 x 10 meter small house (only ground floor made of bricks, tiled roof). The house will be built in a frost-free and dry climate on dry but solid ground. Do I even need reinforcement (rebar) in such a case or is simply pouring concrete into the formwork for the strip foundation sufficient? Is it enough to place the formwork on the surface or do I have to dig a small trench of 10 x 10 meters and how deep should it be in a frost-free zone? For such a small footprint and only the ground floor, does the strip foundation have to be twice as wide as the walls (bricks)? Can I possibly execute the whole thing with stronger concrete without reinforcement (rebar) simply in the formwork on the surface (i.e. no trench, no reinforcement, just concrete in the formwork on the surface)?
