Hello everyone,

we are currently also looking for a new front door. It should also be an aluminum door, preferably with a fingerprint scanner. RC2.

Can anyone perhaps recommend other manufacturers?

So far, we have received offers for aluminum doors from:

- Biffar: admittedly quite expensive, but the swing bolts and security bolts of the door (RC2) make a very sturdy/secure impression.

- Weru: also make a good impression, but when compared directly with Biffar, the bolts and locks seem a bit flimsy.

Both doors are around €6,000 including installation. However, the Weru door would have a fingerprint scanner, Biffar would not.

Does anyone have experience with these two manufacturers?

which manufacturer is your offer from?

Best regards

I currently have Biffar in my rental apartment. The front door is also made of aluminum and was installed about 10 years ago. It still looks like new. The door is very heavy and really solid. Although most burglars probably come in through the windows or the less visible side of the house.

Hi,
there are currently offers at Hörmann, you can get the ThermoSafe doors for about 2700 €, the steel versions for 1800 €. However, without the motor lock yet.
We took the offer, maybe there is something for you too.

I wouldn’t necessarily install a fingerprint scanner in the door, but only the electric motor lock. For the extra cost Hörmann wants for the fingerprint scanner (a good 500 €), you can get a complete intercom system with video and fingerprint scanner, which can also control the lock.

By the way, the tip came from the sampling person of our general contractor...

And the consideration of fingerprint scanner vs. keypad is worth some time. Unfortunately, fingerprint scanners are relatively easy to fool and the recognition accuracy is not the best. You basically still have to carry a key....

Best regards,

Andreas

Nonsense regarding deception and also accuracy... as long as you buy something reasonable.

But that is definitely not the case at 500 euros including an intercom system.

Ekey as a keyword...

Regarding Hörmann, I have read quite often that they make better gates than doors?!

But the offer doesn't sound bad. You can always take another look.
Offers for a Hörmann sectional door are already available, the gates really seem good (I was allowed to take a look at the neighbor's who also has one).

Best regards
