For a good front door, you have to spend that much - we invested almost twice as much (but swallowed it...).

We have an aluminum front door with side panel from Rodenberg (225cm x 170cm). It cost €4500 without installation. One can spend a lot of money on a front door.

It is definitely worth inquiring with regional window and door manufacturers / carpentry companies. They are often cheaper and able to accommodate individual ideas within the scope of their production capabilities. At the last construction project, I had an entrance door 1.51m x 2.26m (wood, opaque painted surface, flush with the frame on the outside, glazed side panel 50cm, burglary security level RC2N) made by a company that produces 100 km away and was recommended to me by an architect colleague. The door cost a gross €3,400, including delivery, excluding installation. Large manufacturers are not necessarily cheaper but make more profit. The same applies, by the way, to the relationship between developer/general contractor/main contractor and architect, or between prefab house and individual design.

Our front door also cost over 4,000 euros. Including 1m glass side panel, white inside, RAL7016 outside, and installation. I can't tell you the exact model at the moment, I would have to check the invoice.

As an alternative to aluminum, you can also take a look at the Hörmann Thermo Pro Plus. They look like aluminum, but are cheaper and have a better U-value.
