I don’t remember it exactly anymore, I mean from March 2016, but I made a special repayment immediately so that everything runs as if I had paid from October 2015. I just remembered that the contract was concluded much earlier, logically it must have been at the beginning of 2015, before the construction phase. During the construction phase, there was the interest-only period, and repayment started in October 2015. From October 2015 to March 2016, only the interest was paid, and I made up the rest with a special repayment. That’s roughly how it must have been.

Only that the people who got 1.5 a year later pay many times more for house and apartment. You are probably better off with the higher interest rate.

You have to look at the whole package

He didn't say anything. I find the crybabies who think the Baukindergeld is unfair much worse. Sure, the 10 years could have been distributed proportionally, but a home ownership allowance also had deadlines. When I think about what I pay for my single-family house today... . My neighbor, on the other hand, bought a bigger house with a better standard 2-3 years ago. The plots of land have also become expensive. He paid the same for 110m² more as I did last year.

I'm actually not whining, no one forced me to build a house, and honestly, €200,000 over 10 years at 2.05% is still acceptable for me. Of course, I would prefer not to give the bank a single cent, but it simply doesn't work without it.

True, true... We paid almost twice as much for our plot than we had planned a few years ago when we made the decision. Buying from a private party instead of the municipality and just three years later makes a huge difference. But we can also get more than double our purchase price for our current house, which we bought in 2005. Crazy world...
