Yep, that must not be the case. Then the moisture, even if it is only slight, has no other choice but to condense on the window.

If you don’t have a suitable thermometer, just do it by hand. As a reference, you can use objects from known temperature ranges, e.g. refrigerator, basement, bedroom.

This only works if the objects are made of similar material. Hands do not "measure" temperatures but heat fluxes (? I'm not entirely sure what exactly, but definitely not temperature). When trying to infer temperature from touching, you quickly end up with huge nonsense. Here, however, it makes sense: compare the suspicious window with other windows.

Hands can compare relative temperatures on the same materials (i.e., with the same thermal conductivity). This means comparing one pane with another is OK, but a pane with a piece of metal is not.

That is also the reason why a wooden floor is generally perceived as "warmer" than tiles. The surface temperature for both materials is the same at the same room temperature.

So presumably the culprit is actually the ventilation system. I found out that the system apparently stops supplying fresh air from around 4:00 PM. The Zehnder display then shows "Frost Disbalance" – in the status I saw that the "frost protection" is set to "100%" and the fresh air to "0%". In the evening, I left the door open in our bedroom, resulting in the windows being dry.

After various researches, I have now found out that I apparently need a pre-heating coil so that the system can operate even in below-freezing temperatures. Can this be confirmed?

For God's sake, use an enthalpy exchanger, then the humidity will be better and the system will operate except during Siberian frost.
