No problem, you are welcome to see it that way. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I look at it from a technical perspective and have my own unique opinion on it.

Hello Capricorn,

I am very interested in how you managed to get the new floor from Ter Hürne. Maybe we could exchange ideas on the subject.

We moved into our new house at the end of September 2018, which we completely laid out with Avatar flooring. We also informed ourselves in advance, even read these articles here, and approached the company Ter Hürne. They gave us the opportunity to test the floor and we found no problems. Since there were really no other negative experiences on the internet, we thought it was an isolated case..... We apparently ordered a different decor (A11 Risseiche hell) than we tested and were already totally disappointed after 4 weeks because small and larger dents appeared everywhere. Some we have to take responsibility for ourselves, a hammer once fell on it, but others we cannot explain at all because we did not consciously notice anything falling. Now we also have 2 small children and had specifically decided against a real wood floor because of that. By now, we would have preferred that, because you can also see dents there, but no carrier plate.

We also had the employees of the company with us, who dismissed the dents as normal signs of use or mechanical impacts. And the lab test, of course, also showed that the floor corresponds to the promised quality. (What else would you expect?)

Now we are actually considering whether to commission an expert ourselves.

I would therefore be very happy to receive an answer on how one might get a new floor without legal dispute.

We are simply disappointed that the floor is so susceptible, because visually and also tactilely we still like it very much!!! But what will it look like in 5 years, when we already have so many dents after 5 months?

And as Vanessa already wrote, one is somehow only cautious...

Thank you in advance for an answer.....

Jenny

Hey Jenny, this is a longer story. Weeks of exhausting correspondence. We involved a lawyer and I also threatened to go public with the whole thing. I wanted to get Sat 1 and Bild involved, I really went all out. As a buyer, I have the right to reduction, rectification, or replacement in case of defects. However, the replacement would have been really expensive because a carpentry workshop would have had to dismantle all our built-in furniture to lay the new floor. That would have cost a mid five-figure amount with storage of the furniture, our move to a hotel during the relaying, and other costs. The option of the new floor was still the cheaper one. Of course, we had to make compromises, just laid it over, and for cost reasons did not dismantle the furniture. Fortunately, the salesperson at the specialty store was also on our side, which helped. In short, make a lot of "noise" and persistently stick with it. No company needs such negative publicity and they are afraid of it. They kept insisting until the end that the floor was fine - but still delivered a replacement. For me, an admission, for Ter Hürne Hywood the calm before the bad reputation. But you will need a lot of patience and determination. Good luck!

Hello everyone, at the end of 2022 we installed a floor from ter Hürne in our house.

TER HÜRNE Avatara 3.0 Wood Edition – Oak Midea, we chose this floor because of the advertising promise "durable and easy-care."

Unfortunately, we are completely disappointed; after only 1.5 weeks in our new house we discovered holes and dents. After now 2 months in our house, the holes, cracks, edge chippings, and stains that can no longer be removed are increasing.

We want to expressly warn against this manufacturer and the product; what was promised is not what we received. We consciously decided against a product from the hardware store and spent a bit more money.

We are currently in communication with the manufacturer. The field service employee attributed the promised robustness only to the technical properties, but not to the optical properties. If the product promise only refers to the technical properties, then it must be advertised exactly like that. It is an outrage to reduce a design floor solely to technical properties.

Steinbock, Optimopti, are you still present here, I would like to exchange views with you on this.

Best regards M.D.

Good morning Customer 2022,

unfortunately, at that time we were not successful in getting a new floor and still live with the old one. In the areas that are heavily used, or where things sometimes fall, such as in the kitchen, there are already many chipped marks. I still find the floor sensitive and would not recommend it anymore.
Unfortunately, we could only get a repair kit and occasionally, when I have a lot of time, I fix the worst dents. But you can’t keep up with it.
We live with it now and when our children are grown, we hopefully will fulfill the dream of real wood planks.
I wish you much success on your journey!
Feel free to report back sometime.
Regards
