Hello bau bau.
Thank you very much for your detailed post. I will address your points according to the corresponding numbering.
1) We deliberately planned the entrance through the house so that she can easily enter the house even in winter. A stairlift can be installed. At the moment she is still very fit. Climbing stairs is supposed to help her stay that way :). Later on, there will be a stairlift.
2) The slope on the east side allows for a lot of windows there. On the south side, there are also 2 windows; maybe we will add a third floor-to-ceiling one next to them. She also gets sun through the south windows at noon. In winter maybe until 2 pm, but two hours later it goes down anyway. She gets east/south sun. No west sun, but we don’t really get that on the ground floor either, because of the garage and the neighboring buildings. I don’t know how we could get more light and sun in there. There are already plenty of windows in the granny flat.
3) Storage room is a good point, maybe it fits next to the kitchen; there is space on the wall there. The washing machine is shown in her bathroom. But it can also be used jointly in the utility room.
4) The sliding door between kitchen and dining will probably not be easy; how exactly should it slide? The pantry will be removed because the kitchen is too small. I need the space for more kitchen cabinets.
7) I am thinking about the entrance area. We’ll see.
8) The garage cannot be wider because on the left side is the property boundary and on the right side there must be space for access to the granny flat. We will probably have to manage with 3 meters.
9) The stairwell will get a window on the upper floor. That seems to span from the ground floor to the attic. Otherwise, we will have to supplement with lamps.
10) I would like to have a west window in the bathroom, but it’s difficult. Then I don’t know where the sauna should go. The idea of a window by the bathtub is nice. The shower is too small for me; it should be a bit wider. Let’s see if the architect comes up with something. Ideally, I would like a T arrangement with hidden toilet and shower. But then I don’t know where to put the sauna.
11) We love many windows and preferably floor-to-ceiling ones. But the slope behind it is true; that might look a bit uncomfortable.
12) Yes, 2x3 would look better. Probably that was the attempt to get a lot of light in.
13) Probably roller shutters.
14) Yes, from late afternoon and evening no more sun comes into the living room. But because of the neighboring buildings, the sun sets behind the houses anyway. In winter the sun still shines into the living room until about 2 pm. Two hours later it goes down anyway. We need the part behind the garage because it is supposed to serve as a substitute for an additional basement storage room. The entire basement space is already taken. The one free room is supposed to be used as a party room. Maybe the garage should be windowless for burglary protection. We will ask if a window can still be installed there.
