Definitely better.
One should consider rotating the staircase by 90°, so the entrance isn't right next to the main door. However, it will probably be a bit tight in the attic.
Regarding the kitchen issue... swap living and cooking areas, turn the wood stove 90° to the right... then it will be nicely positioned between living and dining and won't be in the way.
By the way, I find those two shooting slit windows in the kitchen area, only 50 cm high with a high window sill, really awful. You stand in the room and feel like you're in the basement.
The bathroom on the upper floor is too far under the sloping roof.
