I agree with the previous speaker Curly: the panoramic fireplace here only serves to divide the living space into two. Who sits on one side, who on the other? For a room divider, you don’t really have the conditions to visually separate two areas with a panoramic fireplace, as is commonly done in the dining and living areas. I also don’t find the eat-in kitchen particularly fortunate because of the pantry. On the one hand, the pantry very much restricts reasonable furnishing of the kitchen; on the other hand, the wall up to the kitchen door is too far away from the entrance for me. You could move it further forward, completely do without the pantry. I really like L-shaped houses because they create a nice courtyard. But a complete separation from the living area wouldn’t be my thing either. Maybe play around with the kitchen wing a bit, push it and thereby reduce the courtyard somewhat, so that a connection to the living area is created and in front (to the east) in front of the kitchen there is a strip of east terrace. I would also try a 180-degree rotation of the stairs.

So I would swap the two wings above (larger children's rooms) and also on the ground floor. A big kitchen and dining room facing south and the living room as a small annex facing west? Where do you spend more time?

Hello,

so the children's rooms are definitely too small, but you already know that. Try furnishing the rooms with a bed, wardrobe, desk, enough shelves for books and toys, and see how much space is left for playing (children's rooms are not always tidy the smaller they are, the harder it is to get through). If the guest room upstairs is intended as a playroom, I would maybe leave it open. It is more fun to play in an open play corner. And when the kids are older, you can turn it into a computer corner and keep better track of what they are doing on the internet.
Since you have a shower/toilet downstairs, I would combine the guest room downstairs with the office using a sofa bed.

On the ground floor, I would also connect the living area with the dining area. That appears more open, brighter, and more inviting.
The kitchen is already big enough, but the placement of the kitchen furniture is somewhat unfortunate. You have to (especially as a guest) first pass by the kitchen unit and island to get to the table. How about setting up a pantry in the entrance area and moving the door between kitchen/dining room closer to the front door? Then you could position the kitchen so that the dining table faces the terrace (and as mentioned, a passage to the living room would be ideal).
In summer, you can connect through the terrace, but keep in mind flies and sunlight/heat when the doors are open half the day.

But the basic idea is great. We would have liked to build an L-shaped house too, but unfortunately, we are not allowed on our building plot.

Best regards
