Hello dear community,

I have been a silent reader here in the forum so far and am always amazed by the ideas shared here. Now I need help myself.

We are currently planning an extension to our house. On the upper floor, our new bedroom with an en suite bathroom and dressing room is to be created. Unfortunately, the current plan doesn’t quite convince us yet. Maybe you can help us and have a creative idea for re-planning.

What is important to us:
- [planunten] is the north and street side. Therefore, we would preferably like to keep the sleeping area on the south side if possible
- all windows and walls in the room can be changed. Only the door to the bedroom must remain

Attached is the floor plan. What do you think? What alternatives do we have?

Thank you in advance for your ideas and best regards

Hannah

This is now the extension. And it is supposed to be attached to an existing house?! Are you showing this one too? I mean… there are other possibilities than simply extending a house for a sleeping area, especially in the South. Maybe also with the next water connection… Above all, because the current proposal is somewhat oversized as well. Or?

Thank you for your quick response! Yes, that would be the extension. Since we wanted to change little on the existing house, I left it out for now, but I can gladly provide it later. You are right, maybe someone here still has a tip that we hadn't considered at all... Unfortunately, we can no longer change the shape of the extension :(

I would at least plan a bathtub in one of the bathrooms. I find the changing room relatively small, but then a large wardrobe in the bedroom? Somehow redundant. The nice thing about a design with a walk-in closet for me is that the bedroom becomes cozy and manageable because there isn’t a huge wall of wardrobes in it. :)

The objection with the bathtub is plausible and we actually want to install one in the children's bathroom. Neither my husband nor I are bathtub users...

The thing with the closet is also true. Our only concern was that one might feel overwhelmed when entering the bedroom through a narrow but long dressing room???

Please consider this only as a rough sketch and of course only possible if the walls of the bathroom can still be altered.
