They are just minor things. For example, I would have the door to the storage room open outwards; otherwise, you won’t have any space in there at all. I would place the door to the living room directly opposite the staircase. Start thinking about where to store the stroller and car seat and later enough cabinets/shelves for jackets in multiple versions, waterproof pants, rubber boots, sports bags, school backpacks, etc. With this hallway plus the storage room, I don’t see a problem. But with a smaller hallway, you will regret it later.

Kitchen facing the street is a matter of taste. I find it more practical to have it at the back towards the garden. For example, I have to run from the kitchen to the dining room every time to check what the kids are doing or to call them for food. Also, nobody can see the possibly existing pile of dishes from the garden (with kids, that can happen sometimes when something is left lying around because you have to leave quickly). With the office facing south, you won’t benefit much from the location either. Most people put blinds on the inside because they find that the sun causes glare when working on the PC. As for the L-shape of the living room, that's true, I actually quite like it. But you don’t have to extend the wall straight across; you can go a bit further into the living area and then move the couch a bit away from the window.

But then the problem would be that the office would become very large, because the position of the door is predetermined due to the stairs. Moving the living room a bit further in is then not really possible anymore. Originally that was our wish, to move it in a bit and put the couch there. But actually we like it better this way. We would just like to have a bit more space in the living room. However, if we now move the northern living room wall half a meter to the north, the hallway will probably become too narrow and the space in front of the stairs very cramped.

I would stencil your real furniture and then arrange it on the floor plan if I were you. Maybe the living room is not as small as it seems to you. Sometimes a different placement of the door or a rotation of the fireplace could also create a different sense of space.

Good morning

I regularly don’t understand.
You plan a house exactly according to your wishes
and don’t think about the furnishing

The "problem" at this point is that we do not have any furniture yet. At least none that will remain in the house permanently. Therefore, it makes little sense to plan the house based on that...
