Your pantry wall will be doubled with a dry wall so that a door can run there. That doesn't cost the world for the "wanting."
I will cautiously suggest swapping the living room and kitchen and placing the door to the pantry on the long wall. The pantry would be better utilized. Since you are quite sparing with the info (yes, sometimes more drastic steps have to be taken to optimize something), I have no idea what else might be affected.
