Where should I have overlooked this concerning the OP? Even the mere willingness to deviate from the square can work wonders. Avoiding aesthetic cacophony does not necessarily require simplicity in facade structuring. One of my favorite examples for the motto "simple without ugly" or "simple variation of the city villa to rectangular and with a gable roof" is here the house of

Maybe you would like to consider equipping the access to the dining room/living room with a double-leaf entrance door. I think it usually looks better than a single-leaf door, if there is enough space.

Here in this forum we are all serious and sincere, but in other forums, basically on the internet, it might be better to redact the data of the designer and your address etc.

Personally, just my subjective opinion (which I want to emphasize), the distribution of the windows on the facade is not quite pleasing enough. ;-)

Off topic: We are also building a square house, 9.40m x 9.40m, plot size 567 sqm.

Thanks again for the feedback from everyone.

I had deliberately blacked out all the data, but forgot on one document... Thanks for the attention.

We will now summarize the criticism and consider a rectangular floor plan and commission a complete redesign...

Our architect has taken our wishes into account and made some changes:

- Extension of the garage from 8 to 9 meters
- Passage from utility room to hallway
- SK
- Additionally, we have decided not to build a terrace with roof tiles but rather a canopy made of frosted glass. However, in our view, the currently planned corner terrace is completely impractical. On the one hand, we are planning a U-shaped sofa, so no passage would be possible. On the other hand, the current area is somewhat oversized.
I think a solution towards the west would be best?
- Fireplace has been planned
- Bedroom with dressing room has been revised
- Bathroom is not finalized

Regarding the proposal to change the dimensions of the city villa to rectangular, there is the following issue:
Since the garage with passage can only be implemented as currently planned, the utility room and main entrance must also be on the east side. As soon as the dimensions are changed, problems arise with the room and corridor widths on the ground floor. In addition, a main entrance on the north or south side is out of the question. I hope this is somewhat understandable.

Currently, we are trying to advance the kitchen planning a bit. We like the solution with a peninsula, but the peninsula seems huge. We would like a bit more space between the right wall (towards SK) and the peninsula and to shorten the peninsula somewhat. If necessary, the kitchen on the north side could be extended towards the west. We would then place the dining area not in the northwest corner but rather towards the center (entrance to the living area). In the northwest corner, one could at least create a seating area for 2-3 people (bar stools or similar).

These are at least our current thoughts on the plan.

Otherwise, I am open to feedback and hope once again for constructive criticism :)

Actually frosted glass?? I would use clear glass and shade it from below if needed, which can also be done easily. ....exactly at THAT spot I would have said stop. A garage would never have such an influence on my living concept. Parking space for a car can be created in many ways, a successful living concept demands different requirements. I really don't like the current situation in the dining/kitchen area. The table is half in front of the window and it is just cramped there. No one could sit briefly at the counter or stand comfortably because the dining chairs are already behind it. The area after the door, that is between kitchen/dining and living, is somehow empty and poorly usable. Since you have few overnight guests, I would consider moving the guest room upstairs and creating a spacious multipurpose room downstairs. Upstairs, one or two square meters could be taken from some rooms for such a guest room. Compared to other rooms, the walk-in closet is huge. I would still prefer the rectangle. [/QUOTE]
