Yes, basically I find bathrooms that are not confined spaces better. This way, one can also more flexibly "assign" one at times for parents and one for children, or one for mother and daughter and one for father and son. Or rather, it means less "trouble" for the others to leave a bathtub enjoyer undisturbed sometimes.

Thank you for the tips and advice! I hope you all had a nice celebration and I wish you a good start into the new year. With us, things will continue in mid-January with the measurements by the planner and the structural analysis. After that, we will first escape the winter heading south...

I really like your floor plan! Especially the ground floor feels very harmonious and spacious to me. However, I would arrange the rooms differently on the upper floor. The bathroom is located so centrally that showering/blow-drying early in the morning or late in the evening wakes both children at once. Since you have enough space, I would personally plan it so that it is directly next to the parents' bedroom.

Good morning,

Thank you very much!

That is the only thing that currently worries me more. The bathroom was placed at this location for several reasons:

[*]We didn’t want bedrooms to be directly adjacent to each other
[*]If you swap the left children's room (the one above the dining area) with the bathroom, you have problems with drainage
[*]Nearly identical children's rooms, each with 2 windows

Maybe I will have the 2 walls built with 17.5 soundproof bricks. However, I need to discuss that again with the planner when he returns from vacation.

Otherwise, we still have to slightly enlarge the niche for the appliances in the kitchen in depth, and then that should be it.

Maybe a soundproof wall would be enough for Child 1. Aren't children nowadays usually at school earlier than the parents are at work?

That may apply to the city, but in the countryside with long commuting distances, you have to leave early to avoid the rush hour in metropolitan areas. For example, I leave before 5 o'clock.
