Where is north? At the top of the plan? And why is the living room next to the terrace ... Eating/cooking by the terrace is much more practical.

The terrace is on the south side of the sketch plan. We have the "problem" that a double garage is supposed to be on the side where the kitchen is currently planned. Since we want a lot of natural light and large windows in the living room, having the garage next to the living room windows would block them. That would make relatively little sense for us. But we will probably reconsider it - a very good point, thank you very much!

Yes, that is doable. Is that the signus from Kern-Haus, right? You can already see that it would work that way. I understand the desire for a straight staircase, but you are missing out on many beautiful and more space-efficient possibilities. Especially if the house is not going to be very large, I wouldn't want to waste that valuable space. Such a staircase only works if the room/hallway can accommodate it, and you will definitely have to make it narrower than in your drawing. I strongly advise against a wardrobe directly in front of the toilet if you want children. That's where the kids' and their friends' wet and dirty shoes will be parked, and everyone has to go through it when they want to use the toilet.

Well, which one? ;) ... it's so simple ... put a north arrow into the drawing and there seems to be a plot, place the house on the plot. Add a bit of surroundings like streets, meadows and planned neighbors and things become clear. WE do NOT know your plot ... so provide information.

Straight staircases are simply stupid for less than 250 sqm of living space. That's at least 3.75 m just for the staircase without the landing area in front, which should be at least 1.50 m. And a good 3 m length under the staircase is dead space since the standing height is only given from 3 m onwards.

Stairs to the other side. Pantry. Remove and instead place the pantry under the stairs = space gain in the narrow ground floor.

A straight staircase is also possible under 250 sqm. It depends on the floor plan and the dimensions. Here, a cube was more or less divided into thirds. Space at the start is needed and I would plan with 4m.
A straight staircase is a space eater that you have to be able to afford. It is a mortgage on the floor plan and makes it difficult to achieve the optimum.

The storage space under the staircase should not be underestimated. Although open, the whole thing looks quite different.
