Tastes are so different. I like the OG. If I’m seeing it correctly, the children’s rooms face west. I would have only swapped the bedroom and master bathroom and then made the utility room a bit smaller. But it works like this, too, I think.

For that, I find the dining area still quite uncomfortable and I would add a window to the office. Otherwise, it would be too dark for me.

I hope I haven’t mixed up the cardinal directions now.

Offset shed roof houses are usually built with a base consisting of two offset basic shapes, because without an offset, the house becomes clumsy.
Your example house has it too, mine has it, everyone has it, so I would keep that in mind when designing.

The northern children's room has the orientation of our bedroom. As a bedroom, top; as a children's room, too dark. From September to April, you can strongly notice the difference in brightness. The children's rooms with south and east/west windows are significantly brighter.

So you mean that an offset in the base shape is necessary for an offset mono-pitched roof to really play to its strengths?
How big should such an offset be? Due to the depth of the plot, I would prefer not to have a house depth of >11 m, actually rather less.

Would the ground floor already look harmonious in this variant?

Yes, you can also make the right-hand part overall smaller and not just offset it.
The plan has more potential. Basically, I would avoid an open space when there are children in the house because of the echo... and if it has to be, then run the staircase with the open space along with the roof construction. So a landing or a 2/4-turn staircase running with the roof, completely opposite to your straight staircase.
But it may also stem from the fact that I am slowly getting tired of seeing this floor plan form. I have the feeling that you prospective builders don't consider any other alternatives with their charm at all. This straight staircase has disadvantages that become very clear here: no possibility for a door on the ground floor as well as the upper floor, staircase start opposite the entrance, long corridor tube...

The shed roof can bring wonderful light into the hallway and rooms if the offset is oriented accordingly and glazed. How high can you plan? Is it enough for sleeping lofts in the children's rooms? An open space is great if it is acoustically optimized. is right: an "echo" would be annoying. I don't understand why the open space should be right above the dining table. It serves no purpose for sitting comfortably at the table. A high living space, on the other hand... Practically, it only helps to call the children to eat. It’s inconvenient if you have guests and the children stay awake longer than is good for them. The very large dining table in your design will be positioned too close to the exterior wall. This is neither functional nor in any way generous in a large room. The idea of a counter in the kitchen I basically find OK. In the drawn arrangement, a larger area is created in the corner. What would happen with it? It would be strange to place a large table cramped and have a few unused square meters next to it. Expensive, by the way, too.
