The separation of functions between food and detergent is a luxury you can definitely afford :D You don't gain much more space by folding together, since you still have the two doors.

Yes, that's true. But you can still enter the room even if the clothes rack is standing.

You're of course right there. I don't think I would know how to do it either - whether two rooms or one. Possibly I would remove the access through the kitchen (?).

So we will definitely also use the room as a storage room, the freezer is also in there. Therefore, I think the second door will stay.

A larger room would also have the advantage that it could be used differently. For example, if there is one more child. Or a sleeping option on the ground floor in old age. Ypg is right about that.
