Hello everyone,
Disclaimer: Although I consider this to be a fairly common question, I did not find anything relevant in the search function...
We will soon be building in the Harburg district, Lower Saxony, and are currently facing the decision of which clinker we want.
The development plan literally states the following:
In the entire planning area, the main buildings are to be constructed with red (RAL 2001 and 3000 - 3005) or brown (RAL 8001 - 8007) facing brickwork.
We initially decided on the Röben Moorbrand Lehm-Bunt clinker, which some of our neighbors who have already completed construction also have. This is relatively obviously red-brown and thus fully fits the development plan.
However, we would actually prefer the Röben Geestbrand Weiß-Bunt facing brick. This generally looks more brown but also has many white components. Our general contractor describes the color as "approximately RAL 8004," which would also fit perfectly. But I guess that is more a matter of opinion, right?
Our building notification has already been approved, and the facade color was specified as red-brown. Both facing bricks are both red and brown; however, the Geestbrand also has many shades of white. We would like to choose the latter based on the RAL colors, but what if the building authority inspects the street and simply, how shall I say, doesn’t "find" it brown enough? Such things are rather subjective after all...
Röben Moorbrand Lehm-Bunt
Röben Geestbrand Weiß-Bunt (favorite)
What do you think? And who ultimately decides in a building notification whether everything has been carried out properly according to the development plan? I find it quite brown, but what if someone in a higher position simply sees it differently?
I would be happy to hear your opinion on this.
Best regards,
Lennart
