Yes, I said from the beginning that we are already a "special case"
But it works.

And I consider 650€ to be above average and think you can also easily end up somewhere in the middle. So I just see potential for saving here. Even if it's only 100 or up to 200€ a month.

But everyone has to know for themselves where they can/want to save and whether they have to at all

Yes, we do live as sustainably as possible, but even we are still far from the goal I am aiming for. Right now there are a lot of mandarins, oranges, and bananas again. The kids like them. It’s healthy and you can simply never be perfect. But I often prefer to eat my homemade or (raw) bought sauerkraut from the Demeter store and get my vitamins from that.

Specki

I really think it’s great how you do it. My mother also has a small garden where we all get tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, or peppers every 1-2 weeks during harvest time. Especially if you focus on organic, you save a bit of money. And the stuff tastes better than the 50 cent cucumber or tomato bunch. You could open a thread in the subforum "Gartengestaltung" and explain a bit about your food production there.

Unfortunately, I couldn't ask her if she was happy, but it was not factory farming.

Oh yes, please please

Again, regarding the OP's question
I said that you should include the renovation costs in the financing.
The woman should also be able to earn more eventually...

Again about Specki:

You have already noted that some people depend on a supermarket.
I also have vegetables in the garden in summer (herbs, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, red beets, and every year something new as an experiment... fruit trees unfortunately do not bear as planned) and I notice it positively in my wallet.
If someone is at home a lot, it can be well cared for, watered, and processed. If time is a bit scarce, then you rather reach for cooked red beets or supermarket carrots. In that respect, that should be regarded as normal and average. That is the way it is nowadays, because most jobs pay more than the value of one’s own harvest.
Therefore, these living costs should not be dismissed as nonsense, especially since they are very likely more balanced regarding the lentils.
Not everyone is lucky enough to have a Demeter farm with fair prices nearby.
You too will have to pay more at the latest when the children get to know the world, i.e. go to school.
Therefore, €600 including drugstore articles is more than realistic and I find it negligent in many cases when people calculate with less just because they only use toilet paper at work or (like me) only drink tap water and expect the same from the other family members.

I’m only reading this now:
There are supposedly people who eat with enjoyment and not only calculating vitamins
