Hi,

We currently have a ceiling lamp with 4 LED spotlights of 3 or 3.5 W each in a hallway area of about 5 sqm plus about 4.5 sqm staircase. And that is comfortably bright enough.

Yes, it’s not a stadium floodlight OP lamp but do you all walk around at home wearing welder’s glasses?

My wife is already complaining that the lamp becomes too bright when I equip the remaining 2 lights on the lamp, which actually has 6 heads...

A _good_ 3W LED lamp corresponds in luminous flux roughly to a somewhat weak car headlight!!!

But based on the feedback here, I will definitely buy some GU10 LED lamps and test them in the bathroom. Maybe I am totally off the mark...

Best regards,

Andreas

Hi,

No, God forbid. Definitely not into the fuse box, since these are only the LAN and SAT cables. And the ends of the empty conduits will basically all be in the large storage room and the technical room. We really don’t care about the appearance there (they won’t even get tiles, the screed will just be painted and that’s it!), what counts is easy accessibility of the cable and simple installation.

Many greetings,

Andreas

Quite honestly, I don’t understand it either. Not even with network cables. In the last 5 years, I basically haven’t connected any network cables anymore. One for the repeater upstairs and downstairs, into the children’s rooms and the living room. TV sockets in the living room, children’s rooms, and one in the basement. That’s it.
I also don’t really like spotlights; I find point light sources glaring.

My friends also find me old-fashioned, especially since I almost never have the TV on. What kind of caveman am I, without Sky and 4k?

As an IT guy, I think differently :P. Nothing beats the speed and reliability of a wired connection when you have to shuffle GBs of data back and forth. Well, you have to say that I also partly work from home.

That’s true, they can be uncomfortable. That’s why we only have them in the hallway and the kitchen, because there we want to eliminate as many shadows as possible for working and getting dressed. Well, in the hallway it was also the most effective way to bring light in.

And TV? What’s that? Sky? 4K? OK, I don’t have time for that right now, that might get better once we move in, but there are techies who want to pursue their hobby. Why else spend thousands of euros on home automation?

Yes, then it is logical. I don't even have a desktop anymore, just a notebook. Using a cable makes little sense in that case.

I'm still thinking about the lighting. I always prefer indirect lighting, but it's not always easy to implement.

I have only had laptops for years - always with a cable in the docking station

Wi-Fi is okay for surfing, but not for streaming large amounts of data.
