Duration until the issuance of the building permit in BW

Hello there :)
We recently purchased a plot of land in Stuttgart and are now fully diving into the topic of house construction (single-family house). We have already had several appointments with construction companies and received extremely different statements about the duration until a building permit is issued. We understand that there are certainly varying time frames, depending on special approvals, caseworkers, Corona, etc.
Nevertheless, we are "simply" curious about how long it usually takes on average (regardless of the fact that it is also financially significant if you have to wait many months to start construction). One person said 3-5 months, the next 6-12 months.
What are the experiences of other home builders from Baden Württemberg (and preferably from Stuttgart)?

That strongly depends on the municipality. In our municipality (in BW, Rems-Murr-Kreis) we had the approval after 2 months (which was faster than expected). A few kilometers away (in the same district, but a different municipality) 6-12 months were the norm at the same time.

Friends of ours had to wait 5.5 months in Degerloch. We, a few communities further south, a little less than 3 months.

We were given 4-6 months as guideline values for the district of Konstanz (where we live), and 3-4 months for Sigmaringen (where we are building).

It might also be possible with a notification procedure if the municipality does it and your construction company takes the risk of being responsible for their plan ;)
