Dear house building forum,
my partner and I strongly disagree about the layout of our dressing room. The originally designed floor plan does not include a door to the bathroom. Now my partner really wants a passage to the bathroom and I am worried that it will definitely be difficult to fit enough wardrobes because of that. What are your opinions? Install a door or leave out the door? Best regards, Carolin

Matter of taste. Personally, I would leave out the doors because I am not a fan of having multiple doors to the same room (especially not with a 2m distance) and the dressing room already takes up quite a bit of space for the passage to the bedroom. Others would find it unacceptable to have to look for their clothes and carry them through the hallway to the bathroom before showering (or walk through the hallway in a bathrobe).

Whether it's the door to the bathroom, the dressing room is generally very difficult to furnish. What is the sill height of the window, about 90 cm? Sketch how you would arrange the furniture. Unfortunately, the wall sections are not dimensioned.

I objectively consider this room to be a design flaw for a dressing room (presumably a window above the entrance, yes, everything symmetrical, etc.) … simply hardly properly furnishable as a dressing room. It is more suitable for a nursery or laundry room… I suggest confronting yourself with the entire design. Because the problem here is _not_ just one door! If this thought bothers you both so much, there are many more such blunders.

Maybe it is a dressing room for people with a minimalist wardrobe? I would like to know how the storage planning is intended? What should go in? How many meters of closet space where? Even without a passage to the bathroom, I don't see more than a maximum of 5 m of space there. And for that, it is quite a large room. If the rest of the house is just as spacious, it fits. If the bedroom is only 9 sqm, it doesn't.
