Where is the problem with placing a bench with shoes underneath on the right side in front of the railing?

Taking shoes off outside and putting them on is annoying because you inevitably get your socks dirty that way.

You don't have a small hallway, do you??

Yes, basically we need a shoe bench to sit on in front of the glass railing (preferably the bench can also store shoes) and underneath a mat where the shoes can be placed. Is there something like that? If I take a "normal" shoe bench, it is suitable for placing the shoes on, but then everything underneath gets dirty.

We have a bench, this plastic thing from Ikea fits underneath. Fornico, available at Höffner.

The question is whether any guest would put anything "under" a bench? Somehow, I believe we are better off just placing a shoe mat here and that's it.

We'll have to wipe more often anyway...

We also have a seating area 3 meters further, that's our actual cloakroom. So it will get dirty there sometimes as well... It's hard to prevent.

Guests can be asked to do something. For example, with "you can put your shoes under there." Wiping more often sounds fine in theory, but in practice... make sure you get the seating to the door.

It's primarily or mainly about you first, about the daily dirt?! What guests do, you show them when they are there: you take off their jacket, hang it where planned, and with the shoes it’s similar. And if they then spread the dirt, well, that's how it is. Tip: don't clean before the guests come, but afterwards. Is it a bit distorted? The door looks about one and a half meters. For parquet, I would also go for a carpet mat or an outdoor mat (there’s a reason why hallways should be tiled). The problem will be the height there. Possibly you can already put such a carpet mat outside that can be shaken out weekly. For benches or wooden stools, there are plenty where you can place mats underneath. We have tiles, walk in, and then after two steps onto a round carpet that can be washed. That’s where the shoes are taken off and placed in the wardrobe.
