Hello
We have problems with infiltration in our garden.
During heavy rain, water stands on the surface and forms a pond
especially on the terrace where the largest amounts of water (rain + everything from the terrace) run onto the lawn and cannot infiltrate directly.
We have installed a drainage system, but the water still cannot infiltrate fast enough.
We are considering making a drainage channel at the end of the terrace so that only rainwater needs to infiltrate into the lawn and everything from the terrace flows into the drainage channel and drains into the drainage system.
The drainage system is connected to our soakaway.
The soakaway is too far from the terrace to create and maintain a continuous slope.
My question is: Does the drainage channel at the terrace have disadvantages or only advantages, so that the water can always flow away?
