You write that BioCat performs the crystallization with the microplastic beads. Where does this statement come from? Do you have any documents regarding this or do you know the underlying chemical-physical principle of this system?

I'll jump in here with a question: We definitely want a water softening system. However, we are still not sure whether to go with one or two columns. Our plumber recommends two columns. Less because of the "uninterrupted" softening and more for hygienic reasons. Allegedly, the water is pumped back and forth between the columns when not in use and doesn’t stand for a long time.

Is that true? Does it really make a big difference in private use?

I know the systems from Honeywell. Berkefeld also had something like that. Lime stabilization by crystallizing lime bonds on a macroscopic plastic granulate (usually some chemically and mechanically highly resistant polymers).

Not really. Nothing is pumped back and forth, how could it be, without a pump and consumption. Without consumption, the water stands in a two-column system just like in a single-column system. Hygiene is ensured in both designs by a chlorine cell, which disinfects the filter bed largely during regeneration.

We have also considered them, although I still don’t know if I need one at a hardness level of 14.7?!?
