Do you have a water softener system?

Our water has a hardness of 19. That is already very hard. Questions. Who else has such hard water and tames it with a water softening system? Is the effect really noticeably effective in the bathroom, on fittings, etc.? Which water softening system works well? Also in terms of price-performance ratio? Does it have to be Grünbeck or is there a cheaper option? Background. We would install something like that to reduce the constant scaling of showerheads and faucets. We only drink the water in coffee, otherwise we drink purchased sparkling water.

From 24 °dH down to 6-7°dH with Grünbeck. Other softening systems with salt work too. I just have a Grünbeck because I once worked there. Yes, you can definitely feel it! Or rather, we notice pretty quickly when the salt needs to be refilled because then everything calcifies quickly. Sometimes you forget that ^^

So you recommend it, is that what I'm hearing. Ok, thanks.

It is not necessary, it consumes electricity, it consumes salt, it is not ecological. But yes, it does make life quite a bit easier and protects the hot water boiler.

I do not want to miss the system either.
In the kitchen alone, we have displayed the cold water before the water softener, as the softened water does not taste as good.
