I can manage at least 35 sqm. Many guests and especially several grills have to fit there. I can't find anything about WPC here at all. I will probably start a separate thread for that.

Hello,

you will need the permit! A buddy also had to get one for his self-built pavilion that stands by the house. Germany, after all ..

1. The thickness and material of the sheets depend on what exactly you want to do. Depending on your plans, you will need different sheets.

2. This is, in my opinion, a matter of interpretation and also a question of space.
Awning above: when it rains, it is by far not as loud as when the rain drips directly on the hollow chamber sheets. However, it will probably be more affected. I think it’s all just a matter of design and interpretation of what you consider right.

3. As far as I know, this depends on the federal state you live in. As a precaution, I would ask your responsible authority once. But I assume that you will probably need one.

4. Yes, you are right. If it’s the weather-exposed side, the wood would need a lot of maintenance. A wall is somewhat more expensive, but it is, first of all, windproof and also less susceptible. However, wood usually just looks better in most cases.

I hope I could help you with that.

Hi,
we also have a covering for which we needed a permit. The official at the district building authority was also very limited in terms of the scope of execution.

We had to submit all sorts of stuff (structural analysis) and after only 3 months we got the building permit. You also have to maintain distance areas to the neighbor. That was already the first issue for us, but our neighbor agreed. Then we wanted glass folding walls, which were not approved due to the small distance area. It was a really long fight in our case! Now we have a glass roof with an awning under the glass. I really like that. Because even if it is very windy or rainy – it doesn’t matter, nothing happens to the awning. On the sides, we took vertical awnings. That is also nice with the low sun.
