Hello everyone,

we have two walls in the house that we would like to design in exposed concrete look. Both walls were also concreted (bedroom in the "Wohnkeller" and a statically required living room wall).

The wall in the living room turned out quite well and we think we can leave it without major rework. However, the wall in the bedroom is very "mixed" in color; there are no significant gravel nests or defects, only the coloration bothers us as it has become quite inhomogeneous.

Now the question arises how such a concrete wall can best be DIY retouched to get a nice look?

For example, we considered retouching the wall with suitable concrete paint. But we have no idea what kind of paint is best suited for that.

Does anyone have an idea or has already done something like this themselves?

The nicest option is probably the corresponding (surface) concrete filler, something like Beton Cire. From the hardware store shelf, there are decorative coatings.

I have also stumbled upon these fillers. However, the purpose here seems to be more about replicating the structure of the concrete as accurately as possible through various techniques, such as using formwork films. We already have concrete walls with the appropriate structure, but they just don’t look very good color-wise.

I have read that you can simply paint the wall with concrete glaze, such as the kind used for paving stones (“Pflasterfrisch”). This is available, for example, in RAL7035, which might be something to consider.

Take some pictures, I can't imagine what you mean.

Sure. It should be clear what I mean. The wall in the living room is quite okay, in the picture some moisture got in because the roof was not yet tight (picture with the window and the gypsum boards). But the bedroom unfortunately didn't turn out that well; cleaning alone won't be enough there.

Ok, it really doesn't look very good, I am just an amateur and have no experience with this one. However, I could imagine that if it were sanded and then sealed, it might look better. Maybe

or

can say more about it...
