No person needs ventilation to air out a house. In 20 years, people will wonder what kind of gadgets were built into our houses and will curse wonderfully when renewing them - keyword obsolescence. Lo-tech is a serious alternative. What is wrong with windows?

Controlled residential ventilation yes or no is something everyone must decide for themselves. For some, it is an important comfort gain; for others, an unnecessary expensive investment. We have a tight Kfw 40 house without controlled residential ventilation and we have neither rotted away nor "stunk to death." It actually works with opening the window...

KFW40 without plastic? Is that even doable? I don't want to harp on it, really a serious question. I'd also have to use the calculator to see if the extra effort or obligation to do everything IMMEDIATELY is even worth it. I like to work with time.

No problem!
But the question is, what do you understand by plastic?

It may be a bit polemical, but by that I mean everything made of polystyrene, any kind of foils, etc. in and on the walls. Simply put, those 40cm thick BASF walls, to put it exaggeratedly. Yes, I am aware that the other wooden houses, as already mentioned, have these panels occasionally soaked with some chemicals. However, the proportion of "natural" additives predominates here, according to the carpentry business.

Since the Energy Saving Ordinance or DIN requires sufficient air exchange in new buildings, some form of ventilation is necessary, whether it be window rebate ventilation, decentralized, controlled residential ventilation, or someone who airs the rooms every hour.
